FAQ

1. What is a self-lubricating bushing?

A self-lubricating bushing is a bearing sleeve that does not require external grease or oil during operation. It contains graphite plugs, solid lubricant, or PTFE layers to reduce friction and wear, making it ideal for maintenance-free applications.

2. How does a self-lubricating bushing work?

Self-lubricating bushings work by embedding solid lubricants (e.g. graphite) into the bushing material. As the shaft rotates or moves, the lubricant is gradually released, forming a low-friction film between surfaces.

3. What are the advantages of using self-lubricating bushings?

They require no oiling, reduce downtime, work under high temperatures, resist dust and dirt, and last longer than conventional bushings, especially in automation or harsh environments.

4. What is the difference between a sleeve bushing and a flanged bushing?

A sleeve bushing is cylindrical and used where axial movement is not an issue, while a flanged bushing has an integrated lip to prevent axial sliding and ease mounting.

5. Can I use self-lubricating bushings for high-load applications?

Yes, certain materials like graphite-impregnated bronze or metal-polymer composites are designed for high-load, low-speed environments such as die sets and construction equipment.

6. What tolerances are available for self-lubricating bushings?

Most bushings are available in F7, E7, G6 or custom fits for ID, and m6, h6, or r6 for OD. We support both metric and inch dimensions and provide machining as required.

7. Are your bushings suitable for dry or submerged environments?

Yes, we offer both dry slide bushings for dusty, oil-free systems and corrosion-resistant bushings for underwater or chemical applications.

8. Can I get CAD drawings or request a custom size?

Absolutely. We support 2D/3D CAD files, custom sizes, and special shapes based on your technical drawing or sample.

9. What’s the maximum temperature your bushings can handle?

Depending on the material, our bushings can operate between -50°C to 300°C. For higher temperature resistance, please consult our engineering team.

10. Where are your bushings manufactured? Do you offer global delivery?

Our bushings are manufactured in Dongguan, China — a hub for precision tooling and automation parts. We support OEM/ODM and ship globally via DHL, FedEx, or sea freight.

11. What industries use self-lubricating bushings the most?

Industries include automotive, stamping dies, robotics, packaging machinery, construction equipment, and electric vehicles (EV powertrains).

12. What are the differences between oil-impregnated and dry bushings?

Oil-impregnated bushings contain liquid lubricants and need proper sealing, while dry bushings rely on solid lubricants like PTFE or graphite, suitable for clean, dry environments.
